Movie Review Eat Pray Love 2010 watch online free
Most people I know are going to see this film for Julia Roberts. It is that mysterious link that film stars create with their audiences. We develop a sort of craving to see them again. So a new Julia Roberts movie? Sure. Absolutely. I’m only a few years younger than Julia Roberts which means we have grown together. So, to see her play a woman facing a sort of middle age crisis makes you look inwards with a smile, the nervous kind. I must also say I’m a guy, heterosexual, but not fanatically so. I don’t have the fears that, Jay Leno for instance, shows, when confronted by a “chick flick” If anything “Eat Pray Love” proves that men and women are not that far apart, we simply deal with the same problems in different ways. Here, the filmmakers don’t shy away from the conflict and the balance is real. Julia’s husband, played beautifully by Billy Crudup, accuses her of leaving the marriage without an explanation. He is the one with the broken heart. In Italy, Julia eats and our own gastric juices start to do their thing. I glanced at my watch, I was ready to run into the nearest Italian restaurant and have a relationship with a pizza myself. Italy, Rome and even Naples look so clean that I hardly recognized it. CGI? Luca Argentero plays Julia’s tutor/tourist guide. He is a good looking guy that after appearing in the Italian version of the Big Brother reality show, he became a sort of local movie star and shows promising acting chops. Here, strangely enough, he looks small but charming all the same. India brings the wonderful Richard Jenkins and a solid piece of advise: “don’t give up on love” Bali, well, Bali is something else and it is there that Javier Bardem comes into the picture and provides us with the best scene in the film. I’m not going to tell you what it is but let me just say that involves his son and gives us, finally, a side of Julia we didn’t know how much we missed. Empathy. Feeling something for somebody else’s feelings. I think I may see the film a second time just to see that scene again. I also should mention that James Franco plays a young actor – not what I call a stretch – considering he is my favorite of the young actors around. I will challenge other members of my sex to go and see it. Not to be afraid to feel identified or even chocked up. I can assure you it’s not going to diminish you manliness in any way and will awake your appetites, big time.

I recently got a chance to watch Resident Evil: Afterlife with a couple of friends at a local theatre. The first three movies didn’t give me that much to expect for the fourth installment, either way, I was very excited. I came out completely blown away. It was high octane thrilling action at its best.
Some movies (e.g. Airbender) used the magic of 3D to great waste. But to tell you, Resident Evil 4 was absolutely amazing in 3D and surround sound. Never before had I got to witness Milla Jovovich blowing zombies away in 3D. It was a whole new experience and the first of its genre to be in 3D. I thought it was used amazingly.
There were many jump scares which I didn’t mind, the 4 mouthed zombie’s looked awesome and the normal zombie’s look also very freaky in 3D as well as the Axeman whose feet shaked the very floor of the theater. But the best scene for me was definitely the final battle with Wesker, complete with suspenseful rock music accompanied in which accompanied the epic battle. We’ve been waiting for almost 3 movies to see his head blown out into bits by Jovovich. I’ll leave you to see yourself if he makes it out alive.
Overall it was a great movie, not for kids, so do yourself a wonderful favour, run to your local theater and buy yourself a ticket for Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D.

Greenberg was slightly misadvertised. It is not a “funny movie,” it is a pseudo-slice of life movie with an eccentric but believable character. It is a comedy in the sense that it is not a tragedy.
I enjoyed this film immensely. I found it very cathartic and realistic. It is “funny” in the sense that Ben Stiller is socially inappropriate at times, but honestly, it’s not a “funny” film, and sometimes the film tries to be funny and definitely falls flat. The story is also a little slow to start. That said, it’s still a good film.
Some people clearly don’t “get” this film…Anyone who says “it wasn’t funny!!” or “nothing happened!” is missing the point. This is one of those rare movies based entirely on character, with a very realistic plot progression. It’s not the best movie of the year or anything, but it’s a really good example of a character-driven story. If you don’t care about or “get” Greenberg, there is nothing for you here.
I must protest the people who say the film is unbelievable. It *is* very believable, but not necessarily relatable. It portrays a man bordering on mental instability *very* well.
Ultimately, this movie is similar to Woody Allen pics in affect, although much less “funny.” But it still has that “world through the eyes of a neurotic” gimmick, as well as the laissez-faire plot progression.
Ben Stiller also deserves praise for a great, “real” performance as Greenberg, and he is supported by a mixed cast (some great, some poor).
I recommend this film to anyone familiar with OCD, anxiety, or anyone over 40 who asks “what happened?”

I consider a family film geared towards an audience of all ages (ie Toy Story, Dragon) and I think children’s films like Nanny McPhee and CareBears the Movie do nothing but entertain the youngsters while we older folk sit and watch mindlessly – but perhaps chuckle occasionally. That is what Despicable Me is: a children’s film. I loved the previews and thought it would be hysterical (It’s Steve Carell!) but I was disappointed. Ever since the first preview with the pyramids, I expected greatness. Not so. But it was not bad. Just… okay. It’s decent. There are funny bits as the minions do nothing but slapstick, saving the day in the process… And the cute little girl everyone is raving about? Slightly annoying at times. She’s is THAT kind of cute. I kinda liked Edith who had a flair of dark comedy in her. It is worth a matinée ticket. Don’t bother with the expensive 3-D glasses that are only useful during the roller coaster scene.

So I decided to go to this movie a long time ago after watching a preview. I had an open afternoon on Independence Day yesterday and my wife and I decided to go. I didn’t even know it was based on an animated series until I started reading the comments here. I don’t go to many movies in the theaters. I usually save the money for movies that look like they will be visually thrilling, or come well recommended by friends (or if they’re James Bond movies). Also, I am a M. Night Shyamalan fan – and yes, I even liked Lady in the Water.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire movie and I was completely surprised to see its middle to low rating on IMDb with all of the negative comments. I thought the special effects were amazing (for those who disagree, you’ve been spoiled. This movie was stunning). The acting wasn’t distractingly bad so I didn’t even think about the acting quality until I read some of the comments here. The plot was pretty good for only a 2 hour movie.
Long story short: -My friends recommendedto watch the last airbender movie -I will recommend it to other friends -this movie the last airbender worth to watch it -I now want to see the entire animated series , Shyamalan is the man!

It’s one thing if you don’t like the storyline to begin with. Teen supernatural romances with love triangles aren’t for everyone, so why people who went to see it who don’t like that sort of movie and then decide to give it a crappy review, I don’t know. After reading all the book, I’ll admit I was worried for the movies, in my opinion Twilight was OK, New Moon was a disappointment so I was apprehensive about Eclipse.
The irony of this situation is a horror film director, David Slade, got it right. From the beginning one of the first things I noticed was the fact that the acting had drastically improved. Jacob’s lines were much less cheesy or at least Taylor delivered them in such a way that they didn’t come across that way. Bella’s maturity also was apparent in this film. The darker parts of the movie were as dark as they could be while keeping the PG-13 rating. Charlie was the comic relief and always has been that way, but this time I was legitimately in stitches.
As far as some reviewers who are annoyed by the love triangle and say nothing changed with that in the movie are clearly missing a few marbles. Bella even explains why she hadn’t chosen up until the end of movie to Edward. She was choosing between who she should be and who she is. Jacob obviously who she should be and what she should do and Edward is who she is and where she feels most herself. Plus Jacob and Edward have a moment of understanding in this film which never happened in Twilight or New Moon, and I don’t understand how some people on here didn’t notice that. Also I can tell you that things really change in Breaking Dawn.
Yes there is a lot of dialog in the film, but I don’t really think that’s a bad thing unless you wanted an interpretive dance. You’re dealing with a very large and detailed book that’s being squeezed into a two hour movie, something has to give and dialog is a huge part of keeping the viewer aware of what’s going on and moving the story along and I really don’t think there is too much of it.
Also the movie flew by for me and as always leaves it’s own “cliffhanger” to be addressed in the next film.
The main point is you either love, like, or hate the Twilight Saga, if you hate it, don’t see the movie, if you love it I can tell you you’ll like (probably love) Eclipse.

“I began to think about this when I saw a picture of a mouse with a human ear growing on its back,” Vincenzo Natali said at the premiere screening of “Splice” at the Sundance Film Festival.
I knew this film had hit home with me for a reason. Chuck Vacanti, who had developed the mouse ear, is a friend of the family from my father’s years as a pediatrics resident in Vermont. I’ve tracked his career from a distance, and have somewhat followed in his footsteps now as a medical scientist and physician.
The truly fascinating aspect of “Splice,” then, was that, yes, it had the creation/monster component, which carried a certain novelty and uniqueness. But the real accomplishment of Natali, Polley, and Brody in this film was to capture the ambition of science without falling too much into the caricatures which often result from these attempts.
As I watched the film, I thought to my first year in a medical faculty position. A scientist feels a certain pressure to discover and to publish. My experience has certainly not been on the level which these scientists felt, but it has had its similarities. This pressure to discover and create may result something of a “fight or flight” response in the scientist. Most of us choose to fight, and that fight means injecting a personal stake into the work one does, even to the point of bending the rules, perhaps, to make things happen. I think it happens to all of us to one degree or another. It may be as small as overlooking the necessary IRB paperwork for all researchers involved in a study. Or it may be as large as injected one’s own DNA into a genetic hybrid. We all take risks in science, willing to fight against time, budgetary constraints, and supervisors and inject our own personal stake into our work to see a project come to fruition.
In that sense, then, I found “Splice” a fascinating film. I don’t want to imply an immorality on the part of scientists which even approaches the portrayal in the film. Like the film’s characters, however, all of us work under significant pressure with limited budgets. We want success, and our livelihoods and reputations depend on that success. To what degree we are willing to go to achieve that success is a measure which government may attempt to regulate, but is, in large part, a scientist’s own moral responsibility. “Splice” and the characters portrayed by Polley and Brody capture the dilemma which all scientists face, and the ensuing attempts to find merit and redeeming qualities in the results when rules are broken to achieve certain ends.

I am not going to say too much about the movie because I don’t want to present any “spoilers,” but I have to say this is one of the top action movies out, although very under the radar.
I first watched Undisputed I without ever knowing what it was, just saw it lying around at my friends house and watched it. It caught me completely off guard. Then I watched the second and I just finished the third. It seems like as far as the plots and action sequences go, they keep getting better. The fighting moves or sequences they perform in this movie are crazy! One of the main reasons I love this film. The also, completely capture what Americans think of when we think of a Russian prison. Very accurate to what I picture in my mind.
The acting is rather good in this movie, in my opinion. Sure there are some cheesy comments but every movie has them. My only wish is that they would put Jason Statham in one of these movies. But I have to say I was more than pleased that they brought Boyka back to fight, since he lost in the last movie.
Overall, very good movie if you are into movies like Bloodsport, or Kickboxer. I LOVED Bloodsport, and I was impressed how they copied Bloodsport as far as how the movie was set up, but was still so creative about the actual story line. Didn’t take a ton of special effects and sex scenes to make it a great movie, the fighting was just phenomenal.

Mark Millar whom started out in the British Comic Book industry, writing for 2000AD and Sonic the Comic has become one of the biggest comic book writers around, writing for Marvel and DC with major characters like Spider-man, X-Men, Wolverine and Superman, before being able to create his own comics. His first film adaptation was the weak, dumbed down version of the Matrix, Wanted: but luckily Kick-Ass is a lot better.
Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is a typical New York teenager, who is a comic-book fan, and not in any particular group in High School. He is ignored by girls, including Katie (Lyndsy Fonseca), the girl he fancies. Dave however fantasises about what it would be like to be a superhero and he makes an effort to make it happen. After his first attempt at vigilante justice Dave ends up having a big accident and his nerve endings are damage. But this gives him a high pain threshold and after being videotaped fighting three men at once Dave becomes a internet sensation and his alter-ego, Kick-Ass is born. But Dave as Kick-Ass gets in over his head when he meets two real heroes, Big Daddy (Nicholas Cage), and his young girl Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz), a brilliant martial artist and skilled assassin. Big Daddy sets out to bring down the crime lord Frank D’Amico (Mark Strong), taking down his organisation from the bottom up. As Kick-Ass Dave is brought into their violence world. As well as these superhero actives Dave has to hide his identity, whilst using his fame in the internet age to help people out through Myspace. He also finally get’s Katie’s attentions, but for all the wrong reasons.
The director Matthew Vaughn had been touted to direct comic book conversions before. He was offered the chance to do X-Men: The Last Stand but left because of the rushed production and weak script, and missed out on directing Thor when his script turned out would have cost too much. He has proved to be a skilled director, having done the great gangster film Layer Cake and the fun fantasy romp Stardust. With Kick-Ass he is able to make a stylist, colourful comic-book conversion. It is fast-paced, action-packed, violence and very funny throughout. Vaughn was able to make a live action comic, with stylist vision trick, compared to Ang Lee who tried and failed with Hulk. An excellent film in vain of Frank Miller films like Sin City and 300. Vaughn shows how an action sequence should be directed, with Hit-Girl and her wide range of weapons making excellent viewing. Vaughn made the film like a violence parody of Spider-man, following similar plot elements, scenes like Dave designing his costume, having a similar score and basically plays on wider superhero conventions. But this was a parody which pays tribute and respects the genre it’s lampooning, not aiming for cheap laughs.
Aaron Johnson offers an excellent performance as Dave/Kick-Ass. He is like Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker, going through similar issues, using a voice-over throughout the film, and even sounds like Maguire. He is an actor with a bright future ahead of him. Vaughn is able to assemble a good supporting cast. Nicholas Cage is a known superhero fan and he missed out playing both Iron Man and Superman in the past. He is excellent as the man of action as Big Daddy, and is a deranged but loving father. He is one an important quest to take down Frank D’Amico. Mark Strong has been making headway in Hollywood recently, being in films like Body of Lies and Sherlock Holmes. He plays an effective villain, a gangster slowly becoming more violence and erratic because of the Kick-Ass phenomenon. He too is a deranged and loving father despite his business. But the real star out of the supporting actors is Chloe Moretz as the foul month 11-year-old assassin who is hard as nails, but also at times a sweet-natured girl and it is wonderfully played when the two characteristics are compared. She is one of the most fun characters in a film this year.
